I haven’t been posting nearly enough recently; things have been hectic around here:
We were off to visit friends in from Canada in Tanzania. The eight of us were in Dar-es-Salaam, Selous Game Reserve in the south, and Zanzibar island.
Kiva microfinance, the world’s biggest and best on-line means to donate to micro-projects around the world, came to visit us as part of their due diligence in deciding if we’d become partners. I drove their team–Newton, Mac, and Ben–up to Kabwe and Kapiri to see two of our newest Champion Agents.
Party this Saturday! Thulasy and I are back to Canada soon for last preparations before our wedding and are throwing afternoon brai with the hosting help of Isabelle Carboni-Quinn to celebrate with friends in Zambia.
Home to Canada on the 29th. This is the date we fly out to Canada to get ready for the wedding–celebrations on the 19th and 20th, Hindu and Catholic respectively.
That’s all for now, save one last note:
Malawi is in social and economic turmoil after violent repulsion of mass protests over food prices, petrol shortages, and other government failings. Being in Malawi before for a year and a half I’m watching the news with trepidation but also hope that a good resolution will come about.
